Here is a message from the team at Harvard School of Public Health:
We’re excited to share that California AB 2030, “Dietary supplements for weight loss and over-the-counter diet pills,” passed the Senate Judiciary Committee this week with unanimous support in an 11-0 vote! This comes just one week after the bill passed with overwhelming support in the Senate Health Committee, marking back-to-back committee victories for the campaign to protect young people from dangerous over-the-counter diet pills and muscle-building supplements. Congratulations on playing such a pivotal role in protecting the health of California’s kids!
AB 2030 now heads to the Senate Appropriations Committee, and if we can score another committee win, the bill will move to the full California Senate for a vote. This summer we will be building up a California social media, op-ed, and letters to the editor campaign all across the state to urge state lawmakers and Governor Newsom to get this bill across the finish line and give California kids the protection they deserve from these predatory products. We’ll be reaching out to you again soon on these crucial summer campaigns.
Let’s get this done!
