MA, MFT

CREDENTIALS/DISCIPLINE: Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

BOARD CERTIFIED: Yes, Board of Behavioral Sciences of California

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Number of years treating patients with eating disorders: 10+ years

Number of patients with eating disorders I treat annually: 10-15

EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERTISE: Received my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University. I am certified in Family-Based Treatment for Anorexia Nervosa, and have been treating youth struggling with eating disorders for about 8-10 years. Other areas of expertise include working with families, trauma, depression, anxiety, and birth to five years old.

TREATMENT PHILOSOPHY: I believe that we are constantly trying to find our balance in our lives. We may sometimes experience stressors that cause us to lose our balance, get “stuck,” do things that are not in our favor/unhealthy things, and keep us from enjoying our lives and relationships. Therapy can provide the space and support to work through these things.

HOW DO I DEFINE RECOVERY?: I believe that someone can be medically stable, which could mean “recovery.” It is important for a survivor of an ED to be mindful of their history, patterns, triggers, and their (nutritional) needs of their bodies, while also being able to focus and enjoy other areas of their lives.

FEES: Cash, credit cards, personal checks, sliding scale.
