CREDENTIALS/DISCIPLINE: PhD Clinical Psychology.

BOARD CERTIFIED: Yes-CA Licensing Board.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Number of years treating patients with eating disorders: 10+ years

Number of patients with eating disorders I treat annually: 10-15

EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERTISE: I have a PhD in Clinical Psychology and have devoted my career to body liberation, whether it be related to gender, sexuality, or healing from diet culture. I work with people who are struggling with disordered eating, regardless of whether they meet full criteria for a DSM diagnosis. I regularly teach and train other mental health professionals on the intersections of gender identity and disordered eating. I’m a Certified Body Trust Provider and provide both individual and group psychotherapy. My main approaches are Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Experiencing (SE), and EMDR, but I also incorporate DBT skills training.

TREATMENT PHILOSOPHY: My work is grounded in body liberation. I utilize Body Trust, Health At Every Size, and Intuitive Eating approaches but ground these approaches in an awareness of the larger systems of oppression that contribute to body shame and disordered eating.
