PhD Clinical Psychology, specializing in internalizing disorders, overcontrolled coping intersecting with EDs (as well as substance abuse, trauma, grief, self-harm, SI), “treatment-resistant” depression and anxiety, OCPD, Avoidant PD, Dependent PD, Schizoid PD, ASD Level 1. Intensively trained in RO DBT. I have ED-focused training from the RO-DBT model and also the Carolyn Costin Institute. I also am part of the ED team at Camden Center and participate in multiple consultation groups related to overcontrol and ED. I am also trained in focused ACT, Motivational Interviewing foundational training in standard DBT, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Interpersonal Neurobiology.
TREATMENT PHILOSOPHY:
In private practice, I work with a body-diverse clientele (as well as diverse in multiple facets of being) who struggle with the intersection of overcontrolled coping styles and ED through the collaborative, and I’d say liberatory, RO-DBT framework (implicitly HAES and promotes authenticity, an empowered and values-based, and meaningfully connected life). I work in close collaboration with the client’s RD in addition to medical providers, other supports, and with family members. I do some of that work at Camden Center, and did a lot more when I was the Clinical Director there (worked closely with the Chief of ED program to get the ED program launched at the SF site,). Now I’ve shifted into doing the majority of that work in private practice.
