EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERTISE: Regina Walterman is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) and Art Therapist Intern with a BA in Clinical Psychology from San Francisco State University and an MA in Marriage and Family Therapy with a specialization in Art Therapy from Notre Dame de Namur University. She is trained in EMDR, Pro-Act crisis intervention, and the SF CANS assessment, and skilled in DBT, CBT, mindfulness, somatic awareness, and motivational interviewing. Regina’s expertise includes art therapy, trauma, ADHD, school refusal, teen depression and anxiety, LGBTQ+ affirmative therapy, and crisis prevention. Her diverse background as a nanny, teacher, counselor, and CASA volunteer informs her compassionate and holistic approach to therapy. She provides both in-person and telehealth services.
TREATMENT PHILOSOPHY: Regina’s treatment philosophy centers on creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their emotions and experiences. She believes in a collaborative approach that integrates creative expression, evidence-based therapies, and mindfulness to promote healing, self-awareness, and resilience. Her goal is to empower clients, especially children and teens, to build healthy coping skills and foster growth in a compassionate and affirming environment.
