EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERTISE:
I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science from Brooklyn College. I earned my Master of Science and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Hofstra University. I completed my predoctoral internship at the University of California, Davis and my postdoctoral fellowship at Cognitive Behavioral Associates, a group practice specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). My clinical work has spanned hospital, university counseling center, community health center, and private practice settings. Prior to founding Compass CBT, I spent nine years working as a staff psychologist at a top private practice group in New York City.
I have a comprehensive educational and clinical background in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I have taught courses on Cognitive and Behavioral Approaches to Counseling and Psychotherapy to graduate students at Brooklyn College. I utilize evidence-based practices in my clinical work to address panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), social anxiety disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, specific phobias, and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). I approach binge eating disorder, emotional eating, and negative body image from Health at Every Size® (HAES) and Intuitive Eating approaches.
