EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERTISE:

BS in Food and Nutrition, MPH in Public Health Nutrition, and completed Dietetic Internship and Exam; Registered Dietitian for 7 years with 3 years in eating disorder treatment at the residential level. Served as lead dietitian for 2 years and Program Director for 1 year at Center for Discovery’s RTC ED facility in Fremont, CA. Significant experience working with clients diagnosed with PTSD, BPD, anxiety, depression, suicidality, self-harming, and sensory sensitivities. I also have experience with the transgender and non-binary population and prenatal/postpartum mothers. The majority of my work has been with anorexia, bulimia, and ARFID.

TREATMENT PHILOSOPHY:

I follow the practice of intuitive eating in my treatment approach. I believe that all foods fit and are allowed without judgment. I also utilize the HAES (Healthy At Every Size) model, which shows that health is more achievable and sustainable when body weight is left out of the equation. I work with my clients on practicing non-judgment towards themselves and others, in order to reduce weight stigma and promote body acceptance/tolerance. I believe that for many food and body is a relationship that needs repairing, and because of this it is never perfect or exactly the same.
