EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERTISE: BA from University of California, Santa Cruz and MSW from San Jose State University. LCSW license number LCSW107498. Megan worked in residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient level of care for eating disorders before moving into outpatient care. Megan is trained in Family Based Therapy (FBT- The Maudsley Method). This evidence-based treatment modality can help adolescents recover from an eating disorder at home with their families support rather than having to uproot their lives to attend treatment. Megan is also trained in Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), a modality that helps families better manage intense emotions and improve their connection to one another in the context of supporting a loved one with an eating disorder or mental illness.

TREATMENT PHILOSOPHY: Megan recovered from an eating disorder in her teens and loves helping people find their own recoveries. She has been described as “radically authentic” and “quirky” depending on who you ask. If you’re interested in her story, please visit her website for more details.
