TREATMENT PHILOSOPHY: Struggling with eating disorders can be disheartening
and discouraging. It is my deeply held belief that we all have a core of light and wisdom that can be accessed through many means including Dance/Movement Therapy. The healing quality of the arts combined with conscious thought can lead to resources for a more fulfilling life. The process of getting there is a sacred adventure and a worthwhile journey, including for those who feel they have lost hope.

My life in the dance world has given me vast perspective on and compassion for issues related to eating, body image, and aging. My certification in The Body Positive philosophy has deepened my expertise and skill level in facilitating progress and change.

My commitment to my clients is to explore and deepen their relationship with their body. My work includes Internal Family Systems, existential, transpersonal, and feminist orientations.

I have personally witnessed recovery from eating disorders and know first-hand it is completely possible. Recovery can have many definitions. They include: freedom to experience boundaries in our body; freedom to eat food and enjoy it; freedom to take care of our body and treat it as our temple. On a physical level, recovery can include having a more balanced relationship with our body size and shape, with deepened awareness of cultural pressures that we can reject. Recovery is the opportunity to explore who we are in our deepest heart with more access to our core wisdom; this can be accessed through healing our body.
