EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERTISE: I have a MA from Santa Clara University and will have a Certificate from JFK from their Eating Disorder training program in Feb 2010. I have worked in AOD addictions since 2001 as well as ED with MD and other clinical supervision.

TREATMENT PHILOSOPHY: Each person can move towards health and function as an integrated person with support. Therapy assists my client in gaining insight, AND importantly, putting this insight into action in order to live a healthy full life. The eating disordered client suffers from a specific type of anxiety. With treatment, patients can recover.

Yes, I think it is possible to recover from an eating disorder and define recovery as: The ability to maintain a healthy weight, have people that you love in your life and love you. To also have the ability to manage conflict in a nonabusive manner towards the self and manage feeling states that make us human.
