TREATMENT PHILOSOPHY:
I operate under the assumption that the client-therapist connection is of the utmost importance. If my clients don’t trust me, then therapy isn’t going to be effective. To that end, I am a warm, grounded, nonjudgmental, and accepting therapist. I am client-centered, attachment-based, and use trauma-informed care as needed. I rely on evidenced-based treatment interventions (including CBT and DBT, Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing) that are proven to have effective outcomes. I see recovery as a process that includes ups and downs and is not linear. This means learning to be okay with making mistakes while not giving up on treatment. Persistence is extremely important. Both the eating/food-related disorders and body image issues are treated together in order to achieve full recovery.
