EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERTISE: Kira Olson, LMFT, LPCC, specializes in the treatment of eating disorders, depression, anxiety, and family dynamics / conflict. She has worked with a variety of populations, including eating disorders, substance use issues, developmental disabilities, and severe mental illness. Her experience includes outpatient therapy, transitional age youth programs, school counseling, and home visits. She most recently has provided individual, group, and family therapy for teens and young adults with eating disorders and co-occurring conditions at a partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient setting. Kira provides individual, group, and family therapy for ages 10+, in addition to consultation and coaching services.
TREATMENT PHILOSOPHY: Kira Olson’s therapeutic orientation is holistic, strengths-based and grounded in both cognitive behavioral and psychodynamic approaches. Kira enjoys integrating expressive therapies including art, music, and movement when appropriate. She is additionally trained in spiritual interventions for those desiring faith-based integration.
