Number of years treating patients with eating disorders: 5-8 years

EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERTISE: I earned my doctorate from PGSP Palo Alto University in 2018. Throughout my education I sought specialized training in eating disorder assessment, diagnosis, and treatment as well as other, co-occurring conditions such as substance use, depression, anxiety, and trauma. I completed my predoctoral internship at UC Davis’ Student Health and Counseling Services and my postdoctoral residency at Kaiser Permanente’s Child and Family Psychiatry Department in Richmond, CA. For the past eight years I have also worked as a counselor at Stanford’s inpatient eating disorder unit.
TREATMENT PHILOSOPHY: My style is very collaborative and I approach therapy from an emotion-focused, relational stance. I integrate aspects of CBT, DBT and ACT and meet clients wherever they are at in terms of readiness for change. I believe that full recovery is possible and when appropriate, use my own lived experience with disordered eating and recovery to support clients on their unique recovery journey.
