TREATMENT PHILOSOPHY:

I believe that my number one job as a therapist is to hear you. And when I say hear you, I mean YOU, all of you. As your therapist I am listening to hear where you find pain, where you have been hurt, AND what makes your spirit come alive. I believe that my job is to build a trusting, deep relationship so that I can understand you and inherently find the unique version of support that you need.

My approach in supporting you is creative. I am a creative human seeking places where we can find newness, opportunity, potential, and possibility. I am not saying I am not willing to sit with sadness, frustration, confusion, or despair. I’d say I highly encourage doing this! AND I will always hold possibility, or a vision, or some way out of the origami puzzle being presented in your life(you know what I mean right? When you’re like, “you want me to fold the paper how and make it look like that?!”)

My approach is also to encourage and inspire a gentle acceptance. Like I said, darkness and feelings of stuckness ARE OK. Those parts of you make you human, and I think being human is pretty cool. I KNOW that these feelings are hard because I feel them too. But what I also know is that the more we accept the complexity of ourselves, the more love, connection, and vitality we get to feel in this life. So while I am listening to you, I will also be validating you and the full spectrum of your experience while also holding space for the creation of more peace, more wisdom, more insight, and gosh darn it a little more ease.

Lastly I want to talk about compassion. Self- compassion. I recognize that my work is to help you realize that perhaps(perhaps?)you are not the kindest to yourself. I think many of us live day in and day out with that nagging inner critic, and would willingly say, “ Yea I’d like to get rid of that of that voice.” The problem is that it’s so ingrained that many of us don’t know where to begin transforming it. Through my trainings I have learned how to help people begin to dismantle the inner critic. I am not saying it will be easy, but I can help you realize a path towards a gentle, kind and loving inner voice.

I love that my job is to be here for you. I’ll be honest and say I care deeply(ok I love) the people I get to help. It is a special kind of connection we get to have as therapists, and I feel lucky for it.
