EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERTISE: I have a bachelors degree from Stanford University and a Master in Social Work from UC Berkeley. I have had extensive private supervision and classes from psychodynamic clinicians.
TREATMENT PHILOSOPHY: I work collaboratively with clients helping them understand themselves, to find confidence, and gain control of their lives, and work through changes in life.
I do believe it is possible to recover from an eating disorder. I define recovery as an ability to eat meals without being preoccupied about losing or gaining weight, developing a healthy relationship with one’s body, an ability to understand and be aware of stressors that can contribute to self-destructive eating behaviors. An ability to utilize tools developed in treatment to prevent a relapse to previous self-destructive behaviors.
