TREATMENT PHILOSOPHY: I look at each client as a unique individual and plan individual treatment plans. I believe that we are all capable of accomplishing our goals and that some will take longer than others. My main goal is always to empower the client to be independent of me as soon as it is realistically possible. Often, I will encourage the client to reduce our interactions so that s/he can “practice” what has been learned. I generally take a family systems approach – even with individual therapy.

Yes, I do believe recovery is possible. Recovery is different for everyone. I believe that everyone is able to recover to some degree minimally and in many cases to a large degree. The client needs to work hard and of course, the therapist needs to be creative and flexible. I treat each client differently in that not everyone will benefit from the same technique, or strategy. I generally take a “never give-up” approach and will encourage my client to do the same. Some recoveries take longer than others, but with persistence and hard work – recovery is always possible.
