EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERTISE: I received my Psy.D. from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in 1998. I have been licensed in Illinois since 1999. I completed my internship and post doc work at a behavioral health hospital, eventually becoming the director of the Adult PHP, which included an eating disorder program. I completed specialty training in eating disorder and trauma. I have been in private practice, working with eating disorder clients since 2000. I have been a professional member of ANAD since 2000.

TREATMENT PHILOSOPHY: Cognitive-behavioral therapy.

I do think you can recover from an eating disorder. I believe recovery is defined by each individual and is going to look different for each client. I believe recovery is possible and includes things such as an increase in flexibility when it comes to food, more appropriate image of what a healthy body is, increase flexibility in thinking, feeling and acting. More balance in life, thoughts and behaviors. Less focus on weight, food, and calories.
