EDRC hosted our last Ask the Experts on September 6 featuring Abby Ellin!
Abby Ellin is an award-winning journalist and author who has contributed to The New York Times and The Washington Post. Her work often discusses the stigmas surrounding topics like mental health and diet culture, as her sister passed away from an eating disorder. Abby’s recent NYT article, Anorexia in Middle Age and Beyond, also features EDRC’s founder, Janice Bremis.
Abby is also the author of Teenage Waistland: A Former Fat Kid Weighs In on Living Large, Losing Weight, and How Parents Can (and Can’t Help).
EDRC would like to extend our gratitude to our sponsor, Sutter Health. As well as to our wonderful community members that joined us for this enlightening presentation.
If you or someone you know is struggling with an eating disorder, you can learn more about various care options here. EDRC provides support groups and maintains a comprehensive directory of specialized treatment providers in the Bay Area. You can also support EDRC’s mission further by making a tax deductible donation.
