EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERTISE: Dr. Amit Desai is a board-certified psychiatrist specializing in child and adolescent psychiatry. He earned his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine and completed his general psychiatry residency at LSU Health Sciences Center and Allegheny General Hospital, where he also completed a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry. He holds a B.A. in Political Science with minors in Biology and Chemistry from UC San Diego. Dr. Desai is trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and takes a holistic, collaborative approach to care, integrating both medication management and evidence-based therapy. His clinical expertise includes depression, anxiety, eating disorders, trauma, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, behavioral challenges, and sleep issues in children and teens.
