EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERTISE:
I have been involved in the research and treatment of eating disorders for over fifteen years, with a particular focus on the experiences of LGBTQ and BIPOC individuals.
In addition to my work with clients, I am a co-founder of Liberation: Eating Disorder Education (LEDE), an organization committed increasing access to affordable, evidence-based eating disorder treatment grounded in body liberation and social justice frameworks. I offer supervision, consultation and teach on the subjects of eating disorders, racial justice and relational psychotherapy.
TREATMENT PHILOSOPHY:
I work from a psychodynamic, relational-cultural model. That means I pay attention to your inner world — the influences of family, ancestry, upbringing, and individual development — and the impact of external forces such as culture, identity, social location, and relationships. My practice is further informed by Health at Every Size (HAES), anti-diet and body liberation frameworks.
My style is warm, collaborative and engaged. Together, we will identify your goals, build upon your strengths, and explore the feelings, beliefs and obstacles that hold you back. Using both reflective exploration and pragmatic problem-solving, I help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself and the tools to make the changes you desire.
