EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERTISE: Bachelor’s and Master of Arts in Clinical/Counseling Psychology, with a specialization in working with clients struggling with Eating Disorders. I see individuals 15 years of age and up, as well as parents/families of those struggling with ED’s in my private practice. I also served in the role of Clinical Director at the San Jose location of Cielo House Adult Intensive Outpatient Center for Eating Disorder Treatment where, as the lead Therapist I conducted weekly groups and individual/family therapy sessions as well.
TREATMENT PHILOSOPHY: I work from an integrative approach, using CBT, DBT, psycho-dynamic, and a variety of other modalities as appropriate to the individual.
I do believe that full recovery from an eating disorder is possible. I define recovery as getting to a place where the ED no longer takes over the person’s day-to-day functioning in an adverse way. As with other forms of addiction, someone struggling with Eating Disorders will always face challenges, though I believe it is possible to get to a place where they can live happy fulfilling lives while not having to focus on their eating disorder as a main part of their lives, it can be overcome in that it will be something they are more aware of rather than focusing upon.
FEES: Cash, Credit Cards, Personal Checks, Some Sliding Scale.
INSURANCE: I am not on any insurance panels, but I do provide a bill of service to clients that seek reimbursement from their insurance companies for out of network providers.
