PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Number of years treating patients with eating disorders: 10+

EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERTISE: I have 27 years experience in private practice treating eating disorders. I am an avid learner trained in evidence based therapies such as ACT, DBT, CBT, EFFT, and certified in FBT and Intuitive Eating.

I have specialized in the treatment of eating disorders since the beginning of graduate school in 1989, and since then have received hundreds of hours of advanced training. My internships were in the eating disorders unit of Marshall Hale Hospital and in the private of William Prey, MD. I have been working with men, woman, teens with eating disorders for almost 20 years and have advanced training in all aspects of eating disorder treatment.

TREATMENT PHILOSOPHY: I use a variety of approaches and modalities to suit the needs of the individual. For adults struggling with compulsive over eating I focus on intuitive eating. With teens fighting anorexia and bulimia I use a family based modified Maudsley approach. I use cognitive, behavioral and interpersonal therapeutic techniques.

I use evidence based treatments in a relational framework. I prefer whenever possibly to include family members and supporters.
