TREATMENT PHILOSOPHY: We use various dietary and behavioral approaches and choose the approach(s) that may best fit the individual’s needs. We believe in a patient-centered approach, with a non-judgmental, non-diet, and intuitive eating philosophy.
We feel you can recover from an eating disorder and define recovery as: Medically: 1. Achieving and maintaining a healthy body weight for adults and meeting growth needs for children. 2. Regular monthly menstrual periods for women. 3. Appropriate laboratory values within normal parameters. 4. Meeting nutritional needs. Emotionally/mentally: 1. Normalizing eating patterns 2. Decreased pre-occupation with food and weight. 3. Absence of restrictive and purging behaviors. 4. Acceptance of body size 5. Eating intuitively and mindfully.
