TREATMENT PHILOSOPHY:

I utilize the many years of clinical training and experience that I have had in the past 30 years and apply it in the service of meeting the treatment needs of my clients. I have many years of experience working with various models in psychotherapy from the cognitive behavioral approach to in-depth psychodynamic and analytical ways of working to address the deeper unconscious roots of the particular emotional issues that emerge in various psychological problems including the complexities that arise in eating disorders.

I think it is possible to recover from an eating disorder. Recovery is a complex word to apply to any kind of emotional and psychological struggle and it needs to be defined on a case by case basis in reflection and conjunction with the client. In general recovery begins to emerge when the symptoms decrease significantly or disappear altogether and the client is no longer struggling emotionally or psychologically and not suffering from the issues that were at the root of his/her eating disorder. Furthermore, the client has reached a process of deeper understanding of the roots of the emotional and psychological issues underlying his/her eating disorder and a new psychological attitude and relationship to such issues has developed.
