EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERTISE: I earned my Bachelors and Masters degrees in Psychology. I am currently Program Director at La Ventana Eating Disorders Treatment Programs and have provided individual, family and group therapy to those suffering with Anorexia, Bulimia and Binge Eating Disorders. I have also treated clients struggling with chemical dependency, anxiety, depression and trauma.
My treatment approach to eating disorder is a holistic one; using the best therapeutic techniques to bring about lasting change. I believe one of the most helpful tools towards recovery involves working collaboratively with specialists to provide the most comprehensive and effective treatment for recovery. My referral base includes top-rated eating disorder specialists in the bay area; including psychiatrists, dietitians, and primary care doctors.
Yes, I do believe it is possible to recover from an eating disorder. When a person suffering from an eating disorder finally experiences the freedom of making decisions based on authentic thoughts and feelings; they are free of the eating disorder/critical voice bargaining with them to engage in restricting and other ED behaviors and have a renewed sense of self.
