Worked with eating disorders: Worked on both an Adolescent Psychiatric Unit and an Eating Disorder Unit in the 1980’s treating both individuals and families. Concurrently began a private practice. Worked one year upon move to CA at a Women’s Hospital and in my private practice treating eating disorders. Yes, I think it is possible to recover from an eating disorder and define recovery as: where the patient has developed the ego strength and skills so that they have an alternative choice other than the eating disorder in dealing with their difficulties.
