Eating disorders are a symptom of emotion dysregulation. Developing the ability to regulate difficult emotions through cognitive and behavioral interventions is the most fundamental aspect of the recovery process.
I do think it’s possible to recover from at eating disorder. I define recovery as:When food is no longer the axis around which ones life is organized but instead is a balanced and integral part of the whole of everyday living.
