CREDENTIALS/DISCIPLINE: Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.

Board Certified: Yes – BBS/NCC

Number of years treating patients with eating disorders: 5-8 years

Number of patients with eating disorders you treat annually: 15+

EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERTISE: I have a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from University of Nevada Reno. I graduated with honors and part of the Chi Sigma Iota Fraternity. I sat for the National Counselor Exam and hold the title of NCC (National Certified Counselor). My focus throughout my program was Eating Disorders and I did my practicum internship at Center for Hope of the Sierras, a Residential, PHP, and IOP center. Through out the years I have attended many conferences and workshop who’s primary focus has been eating disorders. I continued to work at a higher level of chair with Cielo House PHP and IOP. I also have experience with Outpatient/Private Practice, where I have been treating a broad spectrum of clients. I confidently treat all eating disorders, trauma, anxiety, depression, couples, families and more.

My hope is to work with individuals to help them discover their true-self. Eating disorders can mask emotions, beliefs, thoughts and other issues, I offer a safe place for clients to explore these areas of themselves.

I believe it is possible to recover from an eating disorder! To me, Recovery is a process, just as life. It takes time to stop relying on the behaviors and “safety” of the eating disorder and start feeling the emotions and look at the driving factors. This journey is different for everyone but the goal is always to help people live life rather then live for their eating disorder. Hope will find you and my job is help see you through.

HOW YOU DEFINE RECOVERY: Becoming the person you were intended to be. We are all human and struggles and suffering are inherently a part of life. However, being able to function without having food or critical talk being the ruler is the goal.
