EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERTISE: I hold a Master of Science Degree in Nutritional Science from San Jose State University and am a Registered Dietitian. I completed my master’s thesis by investigating eating attitudes, spiritual beliefs, and body awareness in women who practice yoga (Eating Disorders: The Journal of Treatment and Prevention, 2009). I have worked the full spectrum of eating disorder treatment facilities for a decade and now have a private practice. I am a former chef, certified Mindfulness-Based Yoga Therapy for Eating Disorders teacher, and trained Mindful Self-Compassion teacher. I am the creator of the Compassionate Body Center, an online resource for utilizing nutrition, yoga, and self-compassion to overcome eating and body image difficulties.
I provide compassion-centered nutrition therapy using a food-positive and practical approach that weaves in concepts from yoga and mindfulness to help people connect with the body and eat with more ease.
