FA, Food Addicts in Recovery Anonymous

FA is a 12-step program of recovery for anyone who suffers from overeating, undereating, bulimia, or obsession with food, weight, or body size. There are no dues or fees, and meetings are open to anyone who wants to stop eating addictively.

EDA Group – Palo Alto

EDA (Eating Disorders Anonymous) is a fellowship of individuals who share their experience, strength and hope in order to help others to recover from their eating disorders. The only requirement for membership is a desire to recover.

EDA Group – San Carlos

Eating Disorders Anonymous is a free 12-step based community-led group for individuals at any stage of recovery for all eating disorders. We aim to create an inclusive environment where people are able to feel comfortable, heard, and safe while striving for balance in relationships with food. We are a fellowship of individuals who share experiences, strength, and hope with others. The primary purpose of our group is to focus on recovery from disordered eating and eating disorders and to spread the message of recovery. Dr. Tonja Krautter Teen Groups (For Teens)

Dr. Krautter’s groups meet once per week and are 60 minutes in length.  Both male, female, and co-ed groups are offered, and topics vary according to member needs.  Group Intake is required prior to the start of group therapy.

The Lotus Collaborative Family & Supporters Group – Santa Cruz

Led by an eating disorder specialist, this free support group is designed to allow parents, husbands, wives, siblings, roommates or other family members to meet each other, recognize common struggles, and learn new ways to cope with a life affected by an eating disorder. Group runs parallel to the Eating Disorders Support Group.

OA, Overeaters Anonymous

OA offers a program of recovery from compulsive eating using the 12-steps. Meetings provide a fellowship of experience, strength and hope where members respect one another’s anonymity. OA charges no dues or fees; it is self-supporting through member contributions.

Family WRAP (Family Wellness and Support Group)– San Jose

“Family WRAP® (Wellness Recovery Action Plan) is a Family Wellness and Support Group that encourages each family member to add their own personal knowledge to address a plan that will promote wellness and recovery from mental illness. It is a living document to deal with triggers, and what it takes to stay well. Materials will be provided. Everyone is welcome!!!”

InnerSolutions’ Food, Weight and Body Image Groups – Soquel

“InnerSolutions’ Food, Weight and Body Image Groups are a safe place to explore the issues underlying food and weight struggles. Part educational and part therapeutic, our groups are led by experienced therapists who have successfully dealt with food and weight issues in their own lives.

Tuesday: 7-8:30pm for Type C women
Wednesday: 6:30-8:00pm for Type A, B, & C women
Thursday: 3-4:30pm for Type C women and 5-6:30pm for Type A & B women

All groups are lead by Marsea. Meetings are offered to adult women and held for a minimum of 16 weeks.

InnerSolutions also offers phone and Skype sessions for those with questions, free subscriptions to their e-mail list, and additional treatment for depression, anxiety, grief, trauma and relationship issues. Outside of groups, counselors are willing to work with individual adults, teens, families, and couples.
