IAEDP is an Approved Continuing Education Provider by NBCC as well as a CPE Accredited Provider for the Commission on Dietetic Registration, the credentialing agency for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
- To compare and contrast current methods used for refeeding adolescents with eating disorders.
- To understand how the PlateED approach can help with weight restoration while also developing less rigidity/more normalized eating.
- To visually understand what is a “good” plate and how to adjust the plate throughout stages of treatment.
- To use the PlateED approach to reduce the “only brown rice” mindset and other orthorexic behaviors.
ABOUT THE PRESENTERS:
Wendy Sterling, MS, RD, CSSD, is a Registered Dietitian and a Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics. She maintains a private practice and works at the Healthy Teen Project with specialties in eating disorders and sports nutrition. She serves on the Clinical Advisory Board of Project HEAL and is the team nutritionist of the Oakland Athletics. Wendy has published research on menstruation, metabolism, and osteoporosis.
Casey Crosbie, RD, CSSD, is a Registered Dietitian and Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics. Prior to joining The Healthy Teen Project, Casey served as Lead Dietitian for Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital. Casey was published in 2012 for research focusing on the medical needs of adolescents with eating disorders.
